Hey! I’m Bryan Chavez, a junior at Wichita State University majoring in Journalism and Media Production, with a minor in Sport Management. Originally from Duncanville, Texas, just south of Dallas, I developed a passion for photography during my sophomore year of high school, focusing initially on sports—especially baseball.
In my senior year, I took on the role of Senior Editor, where I managed photography, graphics, the gear room, and social media, all while preparing for college and graduation. My efforts in photography earned me several awards, including first place in the SkillsUSA Live Photography District competition and recognition for having the Best of the Best portfolio in Texas.
At Wichita State, I joined the school newspaper and landed an internship with Wichita State Athletics as a Creative Intern, which has been a dream come true. I love working in the sports field, where I can combine my skills and passions. Additionally, I work in the School of Communications as a Gear Room worker.
I’m excited to continue exploring my interests and making a mark in journalism and media production!
